Zadar & Rovinj, Croatia
Zadar is a historic old town of Roman ruins, medieval churches & cosmopolitan cafes set on a small peninsula. Its main attraction is the sound & light spectacle of the Sea Organ, which is set within the perforated stone stairs that descend into the sea. Under these steps is a system of pipes & whistles that exudes wistful sighs when the movement of the sea pushes air through it. I only have visuals of the Organ steps, but not the mystical sounds. You'll have to go to hear it for yourself!
Rovinj is an intensely charming place. The old town is full of steep cobble streets & small squares with a tall church tower rising from the highest point.
