Pere Lachaise

Every time I come to Paris, I visit the beautiful Pere Lachaise cemetery.  It's hilly terrain and tree-lined avenues are peaceful, and seductive. Sculptures abound, and the tombs run the gamut from simple, flat, horizontal headstones to elaborate mini-chapels.   Some of the tombs are immaculately cared for, others dilapidated and abandoned.  I have a particular fondness for statues of 'angels', many of which are included in this gallery.
