Isle of Skye

The Isle of Skye is as spectacular as I had read.  The town of Portree, where I stayed, is a charming little fishing village , with a main square and just a few streets off it.  I did the most amazing day tour around the Trotternish peninsula that covered the Old Man of Storr (on a rocky pinnacle); Kilt Rock (waterfall & basalt cliffs); Fairy Glen (a magical landscape); the breathtaking drive over Quiraing pass; Neist Point; and Fairy Pools (which I had to forego to due muscle spasms in my back).  I also did a 2 hour boat tour in the Sound of Raasay where I saw a white-tailed eagle & some lounging pregnant seals.
