Staffa & Lunga Island

This day boat tour out of Oban was my absolute favourite.  After sailing from the colourful town of Tobermory we encountered a group of 5 or 6 dolphins playing right by our boat.  We then went to the uninhabited island of Staffa known for its magnificent basalt columns.  Stunning.   Lunga Island, surrounded by wildflowers and gorgeous scenery, was a 2 hour stop.  This island, also uninhabited, is home to a colony of over 3,000 puffins nesting in burrows in the grassy cliff tops.  It was the highlight of my trip spending time with these adorable creatures.
