Capturing Cuba, 2015
Along with 9 other participants, I attended a 9 day "Capturing Cuba Workshop" led by professional photographer Juris Kornets from Oct 30 to Nov 8. We were in Havana the first 3 days, then went to the beautiful towns of Sancti Spiritus and Trinidad. We returned to Havana for the last few days.
The emphasis of the workshop was to provide tips and techniques on shooting street photography and adding human interest. We given the unique opportunity to access shooting locations which, as a typical tourist, you would never get to see. In addition to the ample opportunities for street shooting, we were privileged to photograph people in their homes in Havana and in a village near Trinidad; a blacksmith at work; a training session for boxers; and young girls learning ballet. We also had access to a couple of good rooftop locations.
